Desdemona had finally sent a messenger to tell me to meet her in the town square. I tried to come as quickly as possible, but when I arrived she informed me that Othello had already returned to the castle and was upset about something. She also informed me that Othello did not wish to speak with her because he was so upset, and it would take more time before she had an opportunity to approach him again. I wondered what could have caused Othello to become so upset that he would distance himself from his wife?
